Chase India & IndusLaw Roundtable on Crypto Regulation

May 17, 2023

With an objective to discuss regulatory perspectives of crypto assets and facilitate a global consensus on a well-coordinated and comprehensive policy approach, Chase India in partnership with IndusLaw organized a roundtable discussion titled ‘Will India’s G20 Presidency be the Turning Point for Crypto Regulation?’ on May 17, 2023. The objective of the roundtable was to deliberate on the key aspects of the crypto sector regulation as part of the way forward proceedings of India’s G20 presidency. The event saw participation from prominent stakeholders including MPs, think tanks, academia, industry, multilateral organizations, civil society, etc.

On the occasion, a report was also released, titled “Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to Regulate Key Concern Areas of Virtual Digital Assets (VDAs)”. The report touched upon the major concern areas around VDAs which have been identified by the governments and regulators worldwide. The report strongly advocated that governments worldwide should develop SOPs for crypto assets. This would help countries globally, across the G20 group and beyond, to have a technology-driven regulatory framework which will promote cooperation across borders and address the major policy concerns.
